Social Media Misinformation Campaigns in China

Twitter and meta slash facebook, have revealed that both of these companies have removed thousands of accounts connected to various state backed disinformation campaigns. Twitter has removed around two thousand accounts that were spreading misinformation about human rights issues in china. Meta also identified another form of harassment it calls brigading. This is when a bunch of folks, sometimes hundreds or thousands of people, co ordinate to harass argets in an effort to silence them.
