Survivor: A Game Design Vocabulary

The production hides clues into the show for you as the viewer to see stuff that the contestants are not part of. It is elegant and like, partly one of the things that I think is important to point out too is that the people on it are having a really good time. The construction where you're not directly competing against, or like voting for your competitors but rather it's like you against the quiz enables it to retain that cooperative feeling even though only one person wins the money. This is subtly but importantly very different that leads to this totally different feel good vibe.
