When people celebrated pop there was often a political edge, right? The idea that the old rock paradime was dominated by, like, old, white guys with guitars. And so there was an idealism that came alongside this celebration of pot music. In other words, if you're celebrating what popular, a lot of times what you are celebrating is the music industry.
