How to Be a Character in Your Own Book

Laurie Keller is the author and illustrator of many picture books, including potato pants. If you were to become a character in your own book, which would it be and why? I have a character called Arnie the Donut who does not know that donuts are made to be eaten. He goes home with a man named Mr. Bing but when he tries to eat Arnie, they both get a big shock.
