i would at least put it in the realm of possibility that hoyd spiked himself on purpose to gain some power or at least flirted with the idea yeah but then again i think he would know enough to take it out actually physically on the planet. Could you imagine if you had a spiked hoyd and you were able to just subtly influence the person who was trying to subtly influence all of the cosmere just be like you? You could imagine how quickly hoyd could like a carrier of a virus not to say anything but our friends in china and around the world  but uh like hoyd is the ultimate spreader of ideas or powers across the cosmere as far as we know
