The Japanese have a fondness for British style suits, the men and obviously those that could afford it would get them from Savile Row. Japan famously didn't want anyone, for a couple hundred years, any foreigners, even in a shipwreck, washing up on the coast of Japan were just put to death. They developed as well ideals around isolation and self-reliance. There's tons to be fascinated about in Japan, it's just an extraordinary place and it affects you emotionally and physically.
