Anarchism and the Homestead Strike

Anarchists have always been ready to shoulder the responsibility for violence. They were impelled, not by the teachings of anarchism, but by conditions making life un rable to their sensitive natures. One of the most significant deeds of political violence occurred in connection with the homestead strike of 18 92. Henry clay frick attempted to smuggle his army of hired pinkerton thugs into homestead which precipitated the terrible carnage of the steel workers.
