How to Intubate a Patient With an LMA

If you can get an LMA really well seated then maybe you don't need to do the intubation awake. Now it might seem crazy to put an LMA in someone who's awake but remember if you've really topicalized their airway then they're not going to feel it anyway. You can do an awake DL also with a regular macramillar blade same thing topicalization open the mouth tell them to open their mouth put your blade in and see what kind of view you can get. Sometimes it's nice to combine these things so if you use for example a glide scope and a fiber optic bronchoscope you can get kind of the overall large view with your glide scope
