Introduction

Joseph Aloysius Ratzinger, born April 16, 1927, died December 31, 2022. He was ordained a priest in his native Bavaria. During the long papacy of Pope John Saint, Pope John Paul II, Joseph Ratzinger served as prefect of the congregation for the doctrine for the faith.
