The History of Cotton in India

There is a vibrant cotton industry in India catering to domestic markets. But there is also an important export component to the Indian cotton industry. In some ways once European traders appear in South Asia, that demand for cotton increases. Who is buying Indian cotton outside India, all the way to the subcontinent? All over Southeast Asia, the East Coast of Africa, the Middle East, but to some extent also Europe.
