The cloud is just someone else's computer unless the cloud is hosted by you. I use NextCloud to store my files because I do not want to depend on another company for how my cloud works, what I can do with it. Now let's talk about the Linux kernel. The latest release of the Linux kernel version 6.2 added better support for Apple Silicon for the most recent Macs,. But you still cannot just use Linux kernel 6.2 on any distro on a recent Mac and many things won't work.
