In 2012 Lynn Klotz a senior fellow at the Center of Arms Control and Non-Peliferation in Washington called for research on these live coronaviruses to be stopped. This is 2012 she said about 30 labs now are working with live SARS virus worldwide. The probability of escape from at least one laboratory is high. Would one in ten escapes lead to a major outbreak or pandemic? One in 100 one in a thousand? No one knows. But for any of these probabilities the likelihood weighted number of victims and deaths would be in tolerably high.
