Linear algebra is simply tenser math, which you could do with or without linear algebra. But linear algebra helps tou make it fast and vectorized and sy to reason about. Step three in the machine learning process is calculus. Calculus takes the derivative of our loss function in order to know how big a step each theta parameter needs to take to fix itself. And this is all part of the luke called gradient descent. Finally, we have our learning step: Train, or fit, or learn,. whatever you at to call it.
