The Lines Are Falling for Me in Pleasant Places
In psalm 16 six it says, the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places. It just never occurred to him that these were boundary lines around a physical lot of land. This is all still a metaphor for the good things that god has given to david, but i didn't understand the metaphor until i read that extra q, inserted word boundary. A formal translation is going to say, you know, i'm going to risk people misunderstanding. But a dynamic translation will tend to say, no, if people aren't understanding, then it's not really a translation. So i find it useful to have both kinds of translations, formal and functional. I hope that's helpful.
