John: I think it's important to emphasize something that we talked about back in season three when we talked about covenantal maintenance. God performs covenantal maintenance with Israel, not annulling or rejecting his covenant with them through doing exactly what he would do in Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28,. He sends the curses upon them to evoke repentance and return in light of the eschatological future that he's promised for them. John: Reading into these things at like some sort of indictment and covenant annulment being the result of his criticism of the leadership right now is dangerous.
