What Happened to the Spanish Flue?

People were dying of thirst because there was no one around them to take care of them. The people who were still healthy were so afraid of catching the flue they would basely let their neighbors die alone in their homes. And it happened in the united states a hundred years ago, and all over the world. It really turned the forward march of humanity in a certain direction.
