Wishes in the Past Tense

Wish plus the past tense is a way of talking about things in the present that we wish were different. These are things that are impossible or very unlikely, such as not being clumsy and having more time to do some hobbies. We use Wish Somebody Something with a couple of phrases - normally happy birthday and merry Christmas. Stay tuned for our 30th birthday episode next year because I am turning 30.
