The Life of Kirby John Caldwell
Kirby John Caldwell was compared to other black ministers and activists like Martin Luther King Jr., Jesse Jackson, and Louis Farrakhan. When faced with adversary, even from the Methodist Church itself, Caldwell stood up for what he believed in. He also joined a variety of corporate boards, pushing Hermann Hospital to increase the use of its minority contractors. However, playing both sides also meant telling the congregation one thing while telling the press something else.
