The Importance of Reparations
CNN's Fareed Zakaria: I don't know how to answer the new version of this, which is that it's about redlining and how not being able to have a decent home creates today's wealth gap. The problem is culture, much of it created by racism, but cultural dispositions that interfere with the building of wealth. Most people aren't thinking about Kuntakinte. It's more Jim Crow and the redlining, more recent things that they're living victims of. All sorts of things have been done. They just want called reparations.
