We lose 20 to 30 per cent of our muscle fibres as we grow older. The precise cause that is not terribly clear. Fast fibre s contract more rapidly and with greater force, tend to go down. And so that alone will result in a decrease in muscle force production. Ray: Sargapina could be due to loss of neuronal inputs through the nero muscular junction.
