The Importance of a Mission Statement in a Tenure Tracker

I really enjoy that experience of coaching people through that first year because it's almost traumatic, you know, how much stuff kind of comes at you. The work of those first few years is zoning in on what you want to do that's different from your advisor and how you're going to become your own academic out from under the wing. And I think like, yeah, the mission statement is really important there.
