The Two Cultures Idea of CP Snow

In the 1950s, CP snow suggested that each art and science represents an autonomous culture. Snell sought to understand magic in a similar way but within a fourfold rather than twofold division of cognitive and perceptual capacities. To do this, he created a tetrad diagram formed by two crossed axes which we've already described. Each refers to a different pair of mental dispositions, sensation slash intuition,. That's the vertical axis, and feeling slash thinking. That's the horizontal axis. This general schema will be familiar to unions and young intern inherited something like it from the Western esoteric tradition.
