Rationally Speaking #181 - William MacAskill on "Moral Uncertainty"

Rationally Speaking Podcast

CHAPTER

The Importance of a Weighted Voting System

The author has developed a system that would allow you to make what seem like more reasonable decisions even in light of theories that are very, very different and therefore incompatible. The key insight is to think of the different moral views in which you have some degree of belief as kind of like a parliament. And then you take a vote amongst all of them. That has the implication that you can still make a better or worse choice when you can't compare comparisons of strength across these different moral views.
