The Third Duma and the Reformers

The third duma was the first one to finish its five year term. They considered more than 25 hundred bills and crafted another 200 of their own. The thing that tripped them up during these years was not bomb throwing revolutionaries so much as czar nicolas, empress alexander and their conservative friends at court. And in the end, as we will see next week, those in trench conservative interests will win, and stalepin and the reformers will lose. But for the moment, they didn't realize they were going to lose.
