XG from an individual game isn't particularly useful always it is a good descriptor of how many chances the team created in a game. I think the bigger the data set is always the better for those sorts of analyses. The idea is that you can work out who has really got control of the game and who should maybe have scored it like so Arsenal Spurs are not sure what the difference was but like Spurs would have created clear chances even though it looks like Arsenal are dominating the game.
