The Conservation of Electric Charge

The quantity momentum is related to an object's mass and the speed that it's traveling at. No matter how much time has passed the total momentum of the system will not change. This kind of conservation law is taken for granted in say an introductory mechanics class. But know there shows us that there's a deeper reason behind this kind of conservation.
