The Circadian Rhythm and Hormones

If you have an orchestra without a conductor, you have noise. And I love that expression because it perfectly describes what the circadian rhythm is doing. You've got melatonin, cortisol, growth hormone, testosterone and thyroid hormone all being heavily influenced by the circadian system. All of those hormones will still exist, even if you have total circadian rhythm dysregulation. But they won't be making music. They'll be making noise.
