Dogs and Empathy
Empathy in its most simple definition is that you're sensitive to the emotions of others. In humans, if you talk with a person who's crying, you'll have a sad expression on your face too. And so that's called emotional contagion. Empathy at the emotional level is found in many, many mammals. Males also have empathy, some males at least. So it's not limited to females.
