More than 50 million Americans live with a mental illness. Fewer than half get any kind of treatment. Congress set out to address that problem in the fallf 20 20. That's when lawmakers decided to convert the ten digit national suicide provention life line into an easy to remember, three digit hot line. On july sixteenth, 200 plus state and locally supported life line centers around the country will start taking nine eight eight calls, chats and texts. But with just about forty days before the launch, nine eight eight call centers or sing an enormous problem.
