How Do We Get From a Patchwork of Institutions to a National State Model?
Tilly's theory of the nation state formation is that how do we get from this disintegrated jumble of institutions, which were often in war with each other. Tilly: European states started the default a lot in the 18th and 19 centuries or really from the 17th 18th 19 centuries onwards. And these kind of disintegrated patchwork so they lost out to realms that were organized into a more centralized and coordinated institutions.
