The Fear of God

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. The midwives, however, feared God. Fear has to do with punishment and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. A close friend of mine grew up with an abusive alcoholic father. He was afraid in a way no child is meant to fear their father.
