The Limits of Vision

A third of the brain's cortex is involved in vision, literally billions of neurons. Spring into action every time you just open your eyes and look around the room. And that's far more computational power than you would need just to take a picture. We feel like we see high resolution everywhere in the visual world, but we do not. The traditional neuroscientists would say that the visual cortex is so large partly because it's filling in high def where there's only a tiny speck of it.
