"I have always like songwriting as puzzle working so songwriting isn't isn't primarily self-expression for me it's in there," he says. "When you're writing songs for myself I tend to rely on kind of rappy rhythmic phrasing but quick punctuated kind of lines and because you're writing for a congregation you actually they want to hear themselves sing" He also talks about the hymn writing thing, which is not an easy task even for many pop songwriters. 'You've got to help them as much as you can' she adds.
