OAuth 2 - Why Is Itn't Working?

Microsoft wants to use OAS too because it supports their two factor mechanism. It involves an actual pop up from Microsoft's website coming up even if you're using, you know, Thunderbird as your mail plan. Why has that not taken off? I think a lot of it just kind of comes down to laziness in the part of the security industry that interfaces with the regular consumer public.
