Copper is really at the heart of most things in clean energy. Wind and solar projects use four to 12 times as much copper as a comparably sized coal or natural gas power plant. Lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese go into lithium ion batteries for electric vehicles. Vanadium is potentially going to be a big long-term winner on the utility scale energy storage side of things.
