Is There a Nuclear Blast?

Nuclear blasts tend to produce a lot of nitrogen oxides, which react with and deplete ozone. If you see an atmosphere become suddenly more opaque than it was before, that tells you something big happened in that atmosphere. There's lots of things out there in the universe that could make signatures similar to alien nuclear total annihilation but not all of them.
