Hammon was on duty at the fire station when a bushfire broke out in 2008. She and her colleague waited for it to come back, but it never did. Hammon says they were not going to report this because she is 'a bit cookey' The blaze eventually burned itself out after an hour-and-a-half of nonstop activity.
