The conservative legal movement formed, built up networks and almost like a glacier over the course of decades moved from a position of dissent to a position of dominance. If McConnell hadn't decided in September 2020 to get Amy Coney Barrett confirmed as quickly as possible, the world would look very different today. These were accidents, and accidents have big consequences too.
