In the dedication, the young man is referred to as mister w h. It was never used to refer to a noble lord, like an earl. Could this be just a further veiling, a sort of further trick to conceal the man's real identity? Maybe it was some uch more obscure person that no one has noted. He may have been some sort of performer that shakespeare knew from the theatrical world.
