The Firestorm That Created a Social Business Model
Facebook's Sam and Dave were both early employees at Facebook now meta. They worked on various social APIs over the years. The notion of charging for an API wasn't even remotely in the zeitgeist back then, they say. There was this big argument that if you opened up data and opened up access, all these amazing experiences could be built,. But it also cuts against any control a platform can exert over protecting data.
