Vladimir I: The Grand Prince of Kiev
As Grand Prince of Kiev, Vladimir embraced paganism. He built a pagan temple in the capital and began thanking the gods for good fortune with human sacrifice. Some attribute his later shift to Christianity is having been catalyzed by part of an early sacrifice where his chosen victim was a Christian. It's said that holy men from all over traveled to Kiev and Roos to pitch their ideologies to Vladimir.
