The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Majora's Mask is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, but it completely turns your expectations of a sequel upside down. So rather than this grand adventure, it's a contained Groundhog Day scenario where you try to make a small amount of progress each cycle that you'll be able to carry over to the next one. There's no boomerang in this game, for instance, I don't think. But everything is just weird, unsettling, and fever dreamish.
