Introduction
In 20 19, a coalition of progressive climate groups unveiled an ambitious vision for sweeping climate action. In the absence of federal climate action, organizers pushed cities across america to craft their own versions. One of those cities was ithaca, new york. The city was committing to a chieve ful de carbonization city wide by 20 30. That means eliminating all carbon omissions in a decade. It had widespread support, but there was only one problem they didn't have the money to pay for it.
