The Curse of Being Number One

When I was in competitive public speaking, I was invisible to my competitors all over the world. And what happens when you win is your visibility now means everything you do after that is shown under the spotlight. So for instance, my techniques were studied. My diction was studied. Even my weaknesses were carefully studied. If you're number one in the practice of any craft, there is a big red dot that frames the target and you're the one everybody is trying to hit. That's why I called his podcast, the curse of being Number One.
