Rick Reuben is a jewish kid from long island and the man in black. He was dropped from his labelas sort of like he had been discarded by the industry at that time. And i thought it would be a fun challenge to make a really good album with a great artist who maybe hasn't done great work for a while. I think he was excited that somebody cared enough to want to do something, because nobody else did.
