The Role of Pesticides in Sperm Quality

Shana Swanke was a pioneer in the field of epidemiology and human biology. She found that short AGD, or pryneum length, can reflect how much testosterone an unborn child has been exposed to during pregnancy. Determining whether a short AGD is a predictor of fertility problems meant leaping forward in time to forecast how men would later be affected by it. In 2009 she oversaw the recruitment of 126 volunteers for what became known as the Rochester Young Men Study. It provided the missing link to show that the lower sperm count, the shorter theAGD, the higher the risk of infertility.
