The Importance of Thinking About Language Like a Linguist

LZ Granderson: We have to start thinking about language like a linguist. He says we grow up taking English classes and having these ideas about people based on the way they talk. LZ: What we teach in school is actually not the scientific view of language. And so if we can understand these as variations related to errors, I think we get a very different perspective.
