The Three Stone Altars of the Antichamber at Karabrif

The three stone altars were found very much where they had always been in the sanctuary. They are remarkable, and they have a great deal of detail about who was responsible for placing them there. Even today, if you go to the temple now, there might be flowers or coins or other things on it. So as Paul said, the site is atmospheric, it does seem to affect people. It's quite interesting. All three of the altars were set up by Prefects, which was the officer in charge of the unit based at Karabrif. The originals have been taken to a museum because obviously, once they're exposed to the Northumbrian weather, they will continue
