The Overt Racism of the South
I don't think the North ever really had to deal with the fallout of a lot of this stuff in the way that the South it was much more obvious. And what what happened is the people in the north never had to look themselves in the mirror and say okay well you know what do I mean and how should I treating black people. So there's still a critical enough mass that people feel okay about just about marching in these kinds of things. The criminal, the law and the politicians were actually inseparable partners. You go to Boston and to this day Boston is extremely racist. It has not disappeared. But at the same point it’s further evidence that this still is there.
