The Problem With Institutionalization of Status
I'm wondering about the extent to which we can really reconfigure the way people value things and the way status is distributed by virtue of these discussions. And whether there's another way to institutionalize that, and whether that institutionalization does just the things that Rawls and Hayek might worry about. Can you give me a couple of examples that you worry about along these lines? Well, so for instance, how do we make one form of work more of equal status to another form of work? How do we give the plumber equal status to the doctor, for instance?
